The fofo is one of four types of Samoan specialist, the others being taulasea, fofogau (bonesetter), and faÍatosaga (midwife). A fofoÍs expertise is in manipulating the toala, or center of being.

Taulasea, traditional healers who deal with psychological ailments, have a long history of activity in Samoa.

The Pirates partner families have a long history in traditional and herbal healing in Samoa. Camp Samoa will be a platform for sharing this knowledge in workshops and clinics with a view to preserving this traditional and cultural knowledge.
