Eco Farming

Samoa are generally sustenance farmers. Farming for thier own consumption and then selling what may be left over at local markets.

Few are farming for an export market.

Unfortunately, some farming is having a big negative impact on the environment.  Forest clearing for crop development, results in serious erosion and amounts to minimal income for the families.

The Eco-Pirates are committed to establishing ways to encourage faming that

- Supports the environment

- Invests in crops that maximizes financial income without negative impacts on the environment

- Eco-Pirates will facilitate export of key crops - Vanilla, Cocoa, Coffee, Honey in projects alongside locals that benefit all and promote environmental protection

Eco-Pirates have been provided access to land to initiate these initiatives (that are under development) to provide an example of how it can be done, in a programme that encourages that others join and reap the benefits of eco-friendly land use.
