Samoa has some of the best bee health in the world and a real opportunity to providers of organic certified honey to the world.
The islands have only 700 operating hives and reports indicate that there is capacity for just over 4000 hives.
This project involves the establishment of 3000 hives over five years, partnering with families who will be provided hives in groups of 15 that will be supported to care for the hives. The honey is processed, packed and sold locally and abroad and the partner families paid a profit share.
There is no cost for getting involved, full training and support is provided. As at August 2021 we have 10 partners and sites lined up to begin honey making when the borders open post COVID.
We are in love with honey and the prospect of its environmental benefits, the ability to put financial resources directly into the hands of families and the prospect of honey to contribute to the wider goals of the group.
Join us as we learn and grow.
