So, many of you will have been following our story over the last you years. we had been prepping a yacht to deliver to Samoa to be a base for our beach and ocean missions there.
The boat was ship shape, loaded with tools, under water drones for reef surveying, kayaks, bikes, generators, bee hives and all sorts. Enough gear to really kick of some cook projects on the island.
Unfortunately, while heading off shore the ship ran into some trouble. A repair we had done to the hull failed. Seemingly the boat builder used a compound that was not good for ferro!
In heavy seas and strong winds, the boat was taking on a lot of water, despite rigging up additional pumps, we could not keep the water out and the ship was lost. The crew were fine, airlifted back to Whangarei. The full story will be posted soon as it is a real tale to tell!
Unfortunately it means back to the strategy board for ECO PIRATES!
The crew are back to work, running shop, making some new money to push the project along.
Significant set back.
The mission must go on!
